Practical seminar on the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol
The IKW (German Cosmetic, Toiletry, Perfumery and Detergent Association) offers a practical seminar on the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol (EU Regulation No. 511/2014) in the cosmetics sector. The seminar takes place on 27 May 2019 in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. The seminar “Putting in practice the Nagoya Protocol” is also open for non-members.
The majority of cosmetic product manufacturers are affected by the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol by EU Regulation No 511/2014 as they use ingredients of plant, animal or other biological origin. The use of genetic resources is subject to duties of care, explanation and cooperation within Germany and the EU. This also includes the obligation to check whether the use falls within the scope of the above-mentioned regulation. As the competent national authority, the BfN is obliged to carry out inspections in order to check whether users comply with these obligations.
The IKW and the Nagoya enforcement authority therefore invite the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation to a practical seminar on the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol in the cosmetics sector.
Who shoud attend?
The practical seminar is aimed at companies that use raw materials of vegetable, animal or other biological origin in cosmetic products; in particular at persons working in the fields of research, product development, sustainability, regulatory compliance, supply chain management and/or supplier relation activity.
