Beauty and personal care ingredients in India: role of Distributors

According to a study by Euromonitor International growth of beauty and personal care in India slowed in 2019, plagued by adverse macroeconomic factors and dynamics including a growing unemployment rate, rising inflation, and a slowdown in rural consumption on the back of poor farm income. While there continued to be a desire to experiment with different beauty and personal care products in 2019, especially amongst young consumers, and a growing need for variety, consumers remained price conscious.As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, companies in the beauty and personal care market are expected to find 2020 a challenging year. Demand is set to suffer from the impact of the lockdown while consumer confidence will be dented by ongoing economic uncertainty.
